Chinese Acupuncture needles are very thin needles that do not contain any medicine, inserted in specific places of the body to treat or prevent certain diseases. The Chinese are the first to use this technique, and that was more than 4000 years ago, and they believe it is working to restore balance in the body. Energy (called "Chi") runs in many different paths in the human body. For some reason, some of these pathways may become impaired by the energy flow, and the balance can be restored by needle stitches at certain locations of these pathways.

Initially, there were about 365  points in the body where needles were inserted, but the number of these points increased significantly with the development of treatment.

How Does Chinese Acupuncture Work?

There are many theories on how acupuncture affects diseases and pains, including:
- Relieve pain by stimulating the secretion of pain-relieving endorphins, which transport nerve signals from and to the brain.
- Influence on the nervous system.
- Stimulation of blood circulation.
- Effect on electricity in the body.
